Midterm Paper 2

Midterm Paper 2

Q Using the reference you chose in Week 2-3, write a Reaction (or Reflection) Paper in APA style, giving your thoughts on the topic in the paper. General guidelines for a Reaction/Reflection Paper can be found , from the module in Week 1-2. I will be following the Rubric for a Reflective (or Reflection) Paper , with the exception of not including proofreading by others in the grading mix. Still, I highly encourage you to have your papers proofread. Information on the Interdisciplinary Literacy Center (ILC) can be found (Links to an external site.). They provide the appropriate services to help you with your writing and much more. They are located in the Communications Building, next to the Lesher Building where Student Services is located, and across from the Science Building. You can find an APA Template for Microsoft Word in the Announcements page. In keeping with the rubric mentioned above, I would expect you "to investigate an idea, evaluate evidence, expound on the idea, and set forth an argument concerning that idea in a clear and concise manner". Feel free to express yourself creatively, including personal experiences that illustrate your understanding of the topic. This paper is worth 70 points and is due Sunday night. Do your best, and good luck! For those of you still having trouble with the APA Style format, the following page is probably one of the best resources: Purdue Writing Lab - APA Formatting and Style Guide (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. Mid-Term Paper: Hold Your Awareness in Concentration and Navigate Deep Inside Cary Barbor’s article The Science of Meditation (Psychology Today, 2001) explains that fear can be minimized by simply meditating. Briefly, Barbor touches on Qinghai-Tibet Plateau which is located in Central Asia, and the conditions of villagers who reside there. When entering the villager’s mud-brick homes, there is no sight of chairs or tables, just a bed. Barbor mentions this in order for us, the audience, to depict that type of lifestyle, as well as our own in order to compare and contrast, which leads to her question, “How do they posses such inner calm in conditions we would call less than ideal?” (2). Without tables, chairs, or bicycling to work everyday, Barbor feels as if Western cultures could not stand much of a chance compared to the villagers. In other words, we can take this in as a lesson, and improve our own wellbeing without materlistics or doing things out of spite such as quitting our job because we aren’t happy with it, but just by meditating.
